Beginning Woodcarving

August 13-14, 2011

Gain good carving techniques, tips on visualizing what to carve and methods for carving with and against the grain of the wood. Take a block of wood and see it evolve into a life like figure. Learn to customize and keep your tools sharp. Good class for beginners.

Instructor: Steve Herndon

Steve grew up in rural Ohio with an inborn love of nature and wildlife. These forces helped to form him into a master craftsman with a passion for restoring historic log buildings. His skills encompass a variety of art forms from cabinetry and furniture making to wood carving and pottery. He has an inborn talent for creating and design and the ability to methodically demonstrate his art.
